Way of working

In a fast-moving society that is driven by ideas, an essential part of leading thought is being a good teacher, as an individual or as a company or institution.

If you don’t have good pedagogy how else can you persuade everyone in an organization or a local community to move in a similar direction? How do you make people care about the essential challenges of tomorrow? How do you refocus the staff around a scaled-down strategy to survive an economic slump? How do you ensure that people at every level understand the priorities of the moment?
Simple: You teach. That’s different from displaying objects or giving a speech in a companywide meeting. That’s not teaching; that’s dictating a power structure of from one to many. Telling people what to do doesn’t guarantee that they will learn enough to think for themselves in the future. Instead, it may mean that they’ll depend on you or their superiors even more and that they will stop taking chances, stop innovating, stop learning.
Fabel designs and produces participatory contexts for learning that are intended for change of attitude and behaviour. Different purposes generate different solutions thus Fabel work independent of media. Fabel often use storytelling as a carrier of the message. The story is then implemented into the products that could be workshops, a group based computer game, a museum exhibition, a campaign, a simulation or a role play or a mix of all these.

Fabel call these methods “wind tunnels”, environments to challenge perception of you or your group.
We can’t tell you about our “process” to create a wind tunnel because we don’t have one. We like to take on challenges that are part of a larger strategy and that deserve of more than a step-by-step plan in order to resolve emerging nuances and provide pathways to implementation.
Because solving strategic communication and pedagogical challenges are non-linear processes, each project we do is adapted. We often work through workshops to generate inclusion before the final result is created. We customize it for the challenge at hand. The actual project plan and its scale are constructed after the needs of both you as costumer and you users are considered and this is when our partnership with you and other relevant actors begins takes off.
We work with a shared approach, solving the challenge brings together people from different disciplines to effectively explore new ideas – ideas that are more human-cantered, that are better able to be executed, and that generate valuable new outcomes.
Since we work on value-based issues, these are problems all have people at their heart. They require a collaborative, human-centred, iterative, and practical approach to finding the best ideas and ultimate solutions.
